Cooking class in Tra Que
Private cooking workshop with fresh garden produce and lunch tasting of prepared dishes.

Immerse yourself in the rural traditions and culinary heritage of Central Vietnam on a full-day tour combining organic market gardening, a hands-on cooking class, and the timeless charms of old Hoi An.
After sharing ancestral farming methods and preparing local specialties in the village of Tra Que, you will stroll through the centuries-old alleyways of the historic maritime port, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Morning departure with your French-speaking guide through the rural countryside surrounding Hoi An, dotted with aquaculture ponds and tranquil villages. Arrive at Tra Que, an organic farming community famed throughout Vietnam for the delicate aromas of its herbs.
Stroll through fragrant plots of mint, coriander, and basil. Put on a traditional conical hat and join the growers in their daily tasks: loosening the soil, fertilizing with natural algae harvested from the nearby river lagoon, and watering with balanced twin sprinkling cans. Afterwards, enjoy a relaxing foot soak in water steeped with therapeutic medicinal herbs, followed by a joyful cooking class where you will learn to make crispy golden Banh Xeo pancakes and traditional Tam Huu pork-and-shrimp herb rolls before savoring your creations for lunch.
In the afternoon, travel to the ancient port of Hoi An for an extensive walking tour through its UNESCO-listed streets. Cross the 400-year-old Japanese Covered Bridge, visit the ornate Fujian Assembly Hall, and step inside Tan Ky House, a splendid 18th-century merchant residence blending Vietnamese, Chinese, and Japanese architecture. Conclude the day with a stroll among vibrant lantern shops. Return transfer to your hotel in the late afternoon.

Travel Log
Selected moments to experience the landscapes, encounters, and rhythm of this itinerary.
